Scholar Athletes

Upon or near the completion of each season the Mountain Valley Conference honors the very best of its student athletes. Each school nominates one student athlete per Varsity sport. From those student athletes one is chosen per sport to be named Mountain Valley Conference Scholar Athlete using the following criteria:

Academics – 40%

            Grade Point Average
            Class Rank
            SAT Scores
            Participation in National Honor Society, High Honor Roll, Honor Roll and
           National Merit Scholar

            Athletic Achievement – 40%
            All State Honors
            Captain/Co-Captain
            All Conference/All League
            Other special achievements or honors related to their sport

            Extra-Curricular/Community Activities – 20%
            Participation in school activities (student government, music, drama, etc.)
            Participation on other varsity teams
            Community activities

The award is the highest bestowed by the Mountain Valley and honors excellence both on and off the field of competition.
